Music of Les Six, Erik Satie
Have you heard of the French Six? Maybe yes, there may be more music lovers out there who know who the members are. The group's idols were Eric Satie and Jean Cocteau. Can we learn from Darius Milhaud's memoirs how this group came about? "After the 1919 concert at the Salle Huyghens, the critic Henri Collet published an article entitled 'Five Russians and the French'. He had chosen six names, Auric, Durey, Honegger, Pulenc, Tailleferre and myself, absolutely arbitrarily, simply because we knew each other, were good friends and performed together most of the time, quite independently of the fact that we had different temperaments and completely different characters."

Schedule
Who are these authors? Why do we mention them together with Satie? What musical ideas and ideals are expressed in "Hatok"? What role do these composers play in the music of the 20th century? What music is being created?
Dóra Tápai, choirmaster, secondary school singing and music teacher, music teacher of the Hungarian House of Music, will tell us about all this, and she will tell us some great stories for today's event! It's a great experience to hear live music, and so it will be at the season-closing concert: the guest artist will be Péter Ittzés, a talented young pianist who graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 2023.
