The Balkan Jazz Project is the dynamic band of Mihály Borbély, who is equally at home in the fields of folk and world music, jazz and contemporary music, and who has won the Artisjus, eMeRTON, Knight's Cross, Gábor Szabó and Liszt prizes, and the Kossuth Prize as a member of the Vujicsicsics ensemble, with like-minded and like-minded musicians. The ensemble's highly successful concerts to date, with the world-renowned cimbalom virtuoso Miklós Lukács, the dedicated interpreters of South Slavic and other Balkan folk music Mihály György and Krunoszláv Agatics, and the rhythm section of the tandem of Balázs Horváth and Hunor G. Szabó, prove that the energies of the Carpathian Basin, the Balkans and jazz can be easily brought together in one focus. Their concerts are a unique experience for fans of folk, jazz and world music: powerful rhythms, subtly translucent lyrical melodies and exhilarating dance tunes.
