Mirla Riomar was born in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, in a community marked by ancient African traditions, where she learned to communicate through dance and percussion at a very young age - essential elements in the development of her identity. He started singing at the age of 12 and joined various groups, sharing the stage with such notable musicians of Afro-Brazilian music as Letieres Leite, Margareth Menezes and Bloco Afro Ilê Aiyê. In 2016 he moved to Barcelona, where he founded and led the group Ganzà with Marcel Vallès, and later decided to start his own project.

In 2022, he released his debut album Afrobrasileira, which explores the traditional rhythms of his native Bahia through his own songs, with a touch of jazz and soul. The album received 4 stars from the prestigious Songlines magazine and was voted the 2nd best global music album of the month by Spin the Globe.
