Blue Sun VA II - Cassette Release Gathering
Budapest-based independent concept label Blue Sun celebrates its first anniversary with their second VA cassette, showcasing artists from the local underground music scene, along with some international guests.
To mark the occasion, the team invites you to an all-day, laid-back session in the spaces of Nyolcésfél in the culturally blooming VIII. district of Budapest. The event kicks off in the garden of Teufel in the afternoon with DJ sets and concerts. After the sun sets, we move into the Nº space for a full-length listening of the album on the breathtaking Japanese quadraphonic sound system built by Kannonaudio, followed by more live acts. As you may have guessed, the performances will feature only artists who appear on the compilation. The exact line-up will be revealed in the coming days.

About the Compilation Cassette: Bound together by an aesthetic rooted in the "listening" culture, the release features mostly downtempo tracks with a colorful palette of genres, including ambient, trip-hop, jazz, experimental electronica, new wave, and even modern classical music. With a contemplative, wandering feel, it shifts the focus from music consumption on dancefloors to an attentive listening experience.
Just as on the first VA (BLSN001VA), there are no ‘A’ or ‘B’ sides on this release. Instead, the label uses colors to distinguish them, largely based on the mood of the tracks. The ‘orange side’ covers a more upbeat line of music, while the ‘blue side’ takes us on a more introverted, experimental journey.
Curated with a ‘circular listening concept’ by the founders of the label, Hanussen & Kozmo D, the tracks are arranged in a specific order designed to take the listener on an endless auditory loop—wherever the journey begins.

THE EVENT IS FREE TO ATTEND. Although we highly encourage all visitors to support the artists by donating to the boxes provided, all income will be evenly distributed among the performing artists.
