Kaspar is the repulsive, the incomprehensible, a deficient being. Peter Handke, the author of speech theatre, is tempted by a theatre without words, and akin to how Kaspar learns language, Handke relearns and rethinks theatre. Sára Sahin-Tóth and her artistic collaborators are inspired by Handke's instructions on ‘speech-torture’ to create a real theatre experiment.
Peter Handke's drama is based on the story of Kaspar Hauser, who grows up isolated from human society and has to start his socialisation from the beginning as a teenager. Kaspar has to define himself and the world around him with the help of the ‘Prompters’, who guide his learning of language and social integration through various instructions.
The ‘Prompters’ push Kaspar, who wants to understand the world and the phenomena around him by mastering language, towards the RIGHTEOUS PATH relying on the most basic reality-constructing tool: speech. But there is a bewildering array of possibilities and contradictions – whichever direction he chooses, he doesn’t even begin to exist.
Sára Sahin-Tóth graduated in 2024 in the theatre director class of Tamás Ascher and Péter Forgács at Freeszfe in the Emergency Exit programme. In her previous productions – Péter Hajnóczy: The Bride of Jesus (Fészek Artists’ Club) and Calderón: Life Is a Dream (Vas Street) – she has already worked with her current collaborators, with whom theypersistently search for a theatrical language that matches the poetic simplicity of writing.

Peter Handke drámája az emberi közösségből kiszakított Kaspar Hauser történetét veszi alapul. Kaspar születésétől fogva az emberi társadalomtól elzártan nő fel, így – mintha felejtéses kómából ébredne – szocializációját a nulláról kell kezdenie. Kasparnak újra kell definiálnia önmagát és az őt körülvevő világot a Sugalmazók közreműködésével, akik különféle instrukciókkal irányítják a beszédtanulását és a szocializációja folyamatát. A beszéddel, a közös valóságállítás legalapvetőbb eszközével tolják a HELYES ÚT felé Kaspart, aki a nyelv elsajátításával akarja megérteni az őt körülvevő jelenségeket. Azonban zavarba ejtően sok a lehetőség és az ellentmondás – és bármilyen irányba fordul, még csak el sem kezd létezni.
Sahin-Tóth Sára Ascher Tamás és Forgács Péter színházrendező osztályában végzett a Freeszfe Emergency Exit programja keretében 2024-ben, így diplomáját a salzburgi Mozarteumban vehette át. Korábbi rendezéseiben – Hajnóczy Péter: Jézus menyasszonya (Fészek Művészklub, Kupolaterem), vagy Calderón: Az élet álom (Vas utca) – dolgozott már jelenlegi alkotótársaival, akikkel most is a szöveg költői egyszerűségének színpadi formanyelvét keresik.
