ONE, TWO, THREE... and! CHILDREN'S DAY
This year's Children's Day is based on the theme of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) exhibition. The focus will be on asking questions, learning, answering, and creating messages. We will observe, question, transform, re-create and re-think materials, works of art, messages in the form of shorter and longer exercises. The programme will take place on three floors of the Ludwig Museum, in six different locations.

Families with children with difficulties in understanding (Down's syndrome, autistic, born with oxygen deficiency, etc.) are also welcome to join us for this day.

ONE...
Find a surface!
Contemporary artists use many interesting, unique and sometimes simple techniques to create their work. One such technique is frottage. In Found in the Field, we will create a new work of art by frogging surfaces together, dealing with the environment and the landscape.

What can a packaging material say?
We are now making artworks and messages from materials that we tend to throw away, that we consider rubbish because they are just there to put something in, to keep something, to support, to protect. The messages will be inspired by the form and function of the packaging.

After Dürer, free
Albrecht Dürer was a 16th century German painter and printmaker whose etching of Melancholy and the polyhedron it depicts are much referenced in the FAQs exhibition. We will look closely at it, learn about the details of the work, the symbolic allusions it contains, and make our own free version of it.

To get closer to contemporary art, we often need to ask questions. Often the difficulty is not in formulating the answer, but in asking a pertinent question. For a selection of your favourites from the 3rd floor exhibition, we invite you to formulate a question to get closer to the works!

Why this way?
When we look at works of art, we sometimes wonder why the artist created them this way. Why did he use this colour, this form, this material? We will now redesign a few selected works from the Ludwig Museum's collection. We will then discuss how the work will be changed by our innovations, how its message will be different.

Find the answer!
Which is the oldest painting? Where did the artist live? What material was the work made of? When visiting an exhibition, many questions arise. Now we have to find the answers to some of these frequently asked questions by using a polyhedron body in the FAQ exhibition.

Ludwig Museum
The Ludwig Museum - Museum of Contemporary Art, located in Müpa, is the first museum in Hungary to exclusively collect contemporary art. In addition to a permanent exhibition of the collection donated by the Ludwigs and a number of temporary exhibitions, the museum aims to raise awareness of the works and their creators through special publications and a variety of art education and art education programmes.
