Benin is an African country neighbouring Ghana and Nigeria, while Finland is in northern Europe. What do these two distant countries have in common? Apparently nothing. In terms of flavours, rhythms, landscapes and temperaments, no two countries are ever so far apart.

Then came the Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble and everything changed. They created the band, where tall steel-blond musicians shake their heads to vibrant African rhythms, all while jazz harmonies pop up from time to time. The vibrant and joyful stage presence ensures that no one on the dance floor is left motionless.
