Mohamad Zatari – Ségercz Ferenc – Vitályos Lehel (SY/HU)

Ferenc Ségercz, who besides his performing activities is also engaged in collecting musical folklore, is a master of wind instruments from Moldova, Gyimes and other Transylvanian regions. He mainly performs songs based on his own ideas, giving folk melodies a new guise, while combining the ancient tradition of improvisation with harmonies drawn from the jazz vocabulary. Mohamad Zatari's work aims to decolonise music, questioning Western perceptions of non-Western music cultures. He is an active participant in the AL.Ehtifal Project, whose changing members create layered soundscapes through improvisation. Lehel Vitályos, who also plays bass and double bass, is a restless traveller in the jazz world, having played in a number of rock, folk and electronic music ensembles and working with artists such as Luiza Zan, Nicolas Simion, Jazzpar Trio and sZempöl.
