The exuberant and enjoyable music of the Linz-based Schmack Quartet inevitably captivates the audience's attention. Their second album, In Love (Seayou Records, 2024), conveys the raw energy, momentum, and musicality of their live concerts; the four musicians sometimes wander off, only to come back together again around emotionally charged chords and beautiful melodies. They see themselves primarily as music lovers who combine a number of influences and strive to transcend conventions. They worked on the material for In Love for five years, and the result exceeded even their own expectations: an eclectic mix of groundbreaking jazz, vibrant hip-hop, and catchy pop melodies showcases the band's versatility and, wandering through the infinite nuances of human emotions, professes its belief in love, passion, and creativity.
