Négyessy Barnabás Quartet: Where Are We Now – lemezbemutató

The members of Barnabás Négyessy's quartet began working together a few years ago in Budapest. One of their main goals is to draw on their musical and artistic influences, as well as each other's ideas, to create a unique musical world that incorporates all of these influences. Although the young musicians met within the Hungarian jazz scene, the style of the ensemble cannot be clearly defined: their repertoire includes elements of jazz, rock, classical-contemporary music, and folk music. Some of their compositions are melancholic in tone, reminiscent of ambient music, while others are fast-paced and punctuated by various rhythms.

The band won the audience award at the 2025 Müpa Jazz Showcase and also received a special award from the Opus Jazz Club, as a result of which they were invited to present their entire first album here. Their studio work was based on a live concept, so at the concert they will attempt to recreate the atmosphere in which their compositions were recorded.
