Schedule

The diary began in 2019 as a photographic journal updated daily. The spontaneous uploading of images to Instagram brought with it the realization that something was beginning to come together and form a coherent whole. The location appearing on Instagram (Somewhere on Earth) suggests that the objects, places, situations, portraits, and phenomena found in the series can be found anywhere in the world. The use of light in the snapshots is intended to highlight everyday events from their surroundings, thereby rewriting them with new meaning.

The images, created and published day by day, began to form a series in which new sequences appeared one after another. The realization that these seemingly unrelated images function coherently is not merely a formal motif, as they reflect on each other in completely diverse ways in different selections based on different organizing principles. The diary. photo series began as a classic documentary work, which expanded into a photo essay during the work process. The images are not intended to provide answers, but rather to raise questions and point to things that are already known and easily interpretable, based on new interpretative mechanisms.

Pikszis Culture Point

At Pikszis we collect, consume and display all kinds of art. We have created a multi-functional, cultural community space where everyone is welcome, regardless of their prior level or connection to the arts. Our aim is to make it easier for everyone to explore different art forms by bringing together visual arts, music and more in one institution. Pikszis currently consists of a gallery, a café, a record shop, a vintage store and rooms for different workshops and events. We also have an in-house art school, the Pikszis Analogue Circle, which takes a slightly different approach to teaching people how to create.
