The Joystix

Do you remember Stallion from the 90s, the only Hungarian band that really looked like they had been recruited from Hollywood and not from Pécs? Well, our acquaintance with Yell, the singer of Dealerz, dates back to those days, as he was also behind the microphone there! I can't think of a band on the Hungarian scene that would be a better fit for this evening than Dirty Dealerz, and I'm very happy that they accepted our invitation! Then Big Daddy Laca from Kartel said yes to our invitation. Those who are more knowledgeable may know Laca from the punk band KGB (Ganxsta Zolee-Bigdaddy L -Szöszö) for more than a decade, and when, although rarely, all three of us happen to be in the same place for that 45 minutes, we still get up on stage to this day! In addition, Kartel has helped us a lot over the years with gigs for which we are still grateful to them and Laca. To our great delight, Ganxsta "Döglégy" Zolee has also confirmed his presence at the party, and it will be something special to see him on stage with his guitar around his neck instead of behind the drums... Maybe we'll even hear a KGB song that night? Well, you'll have to come to find out! Then there's Kiss Endi from the Hooligans, whom we've also known since the late 90s and are friends with. Just like Kartel, we owe a lot to the Hooligans. Over the years, we've been able to open for them with Joystix at parties that our underground status would never have entitled us to! Then: Stuffy from the Parisian band High-School Motherfuckers will be honoring us with his presence. Not only have we been friends for decades, but we also have a band together called Suckerstarz, and we owe him many of our French tours and the release of several albums on his own indie label, Shotgun Generation Records! Without him, Joystix wouldn't be what it is today. In addition, to complete the French contingent, Ben Dalstein from the excellent band Flying Donuts will also be celebrating with us at Dürer. We have toured together several times in France and at home, We also released a joint EP, and he helped us out on drums during our French tour a few years ago when we were having problems with our drummer! In addition, two former Joystix members will also be celebrating with us that evening! András Greff will be on guitar and Zsolt "Zsola" Pintér will be on drums. We thank them for accepting our invitation and are happy to see them again to revive a few songs we played together. Furthermore, to balance out the male/female ratio, we will be joined for the evening by the excellent Lilla Dakos on keyboards, as well as vocalists Krisztina Nagy and Szilvia Jakab, who will help us perform the songs live just as they were recorded on the albums. AND THEN SOMETHING I COULDN'T HAVE IMAGINED IN 2005!!! At the end of the nineties, the Backyard Babies album Total 13 changed my musical taste so much that a few weeks after listening to it for the first time, I thought I HAD to do something like this. This idea gave rise to Joystix, which, defying trends, fashions, audience numbers, detractors, and adversity, still exists today, and I think it will continue to exist as long as I can pick up a guitar. So!!! DREGEN from Backyard Babies will be with us on stage tonight!!! Although we played before the Babies more than a decade ago, I think this will be completely different, and I'm sure the experience will stick in all of our memories for a long time. Needless to say, this is a huge honor for us!!! Ladies and gentlemen, if you like us, I don't think you should miss this evening. There will be songs that have been an integral part of Joystix's set list for years, and there will be songs we've never played live before! Celebrate with us and let's have a real Rock'n'Roll party!
