Lina Allemano's Ohrenschmaus (CA/NO/DE)

The Berlin-based Ohrenschmaus Trio has gained international renown for its adventurous and virtuosic improvisations. Founded in 2017, the band is led by Canadian trumpeter and composer Lina Allemano, with Norwegian bassist Dan Peter Sundland and German drummer Michael Griener, who has already performed twice at Opus as a member of Oùat. Their musical world is both melodic and gestural; their repertoire consists of Allemano's unique compositions, which they perform as a true ensemble, in the spirit of dialogue, spontaneity, and the discovery of new sounds. Their debut album, Rats and Mice, received numerous favorable reviews in 2019, and last year they released their second album, Flip Side. In 2020, they performed as a featured act at Jazzfest Berlin.
