Eastern Boundary Trio (US/HU)

The members of the Eastern Boundary Trio are masters of improvisation, so the spirit and musical message of their performances can truly come to fruition live. At their concerts, we can hear their own compositions accompanied by free improvisations, in which musical ideas engage in a dialogue that transcends national and genre boundaries, forged into unity by the power of improvisation. Joe Fonda is a prominent figure on the New York avant-garde scene, who has played in various formations with Anthony Braxton and Dave Douglas, among others, and is also a member of numerous American and European music workshops. Together with renowned artists from the Hungarian and international jazz scene, Mihály Borbély and Balázs Bágyi, as well as American pianist Michael Jefry Stevens, they formed the Eastern Boundary Quartet, which also works as a trio from time to time, and this is how they will perform at Opus.
