The fifth-year Zsámbéki-Fullajtár-Tárnoki-Jákfalvi acting class performs three of Ibsen's family dramas. We peer into the dimly lit rooms of the Alvings, Solnesses and Borkmans. Fathers, sons, mothers and daughters dance a death dance.

Schedule

Mastery exam in acting, using the simplest possible theatrical tools. The graduate acting class puts Ibsen plays in a whole new light. They show intergenerational tensions, fraying nerves and brilliant acting. In an empty space, relying only on their talents and each other, they condense scenes whose absurdity is both amusing and thought-provoking.

Ibsen's text, which has been played out to the point of boredom, or at least familiarity, finds new emphases, and the brilliant acting of the cast brings to the surface real tensions that question the differences between generations. Ibsen's text is given a new yet accurate interpretation, leaving room for a complex presentation of the actor's character formation.
