Pocket Pick is an electronic jazz project launched in February 2025 by jazz pianist Gergő Szabó, whose sound is mainly inspired by various electronic music trends that have emerged over the past decades, but whose communication between musicians harks back to jazz roots. Synths, big solos, spontaneous interactions, spoken word, diverse beats, jungle, drum and bass, 6/8 jazz comping, joy, love, heyehuja, happy endings—what more could you want?

Narrative jazz music steeped in Scandinavian influences.

The band was formed at the Béla Bartók Conservatory, and after two years of playing together – including performances at the Opus Jazz Club – they took a new direction with this duo.

Their musical world is difficult to categorize, but they draw inspiration from a fusion of free music, jazz, grooves, psychedelic and abstract elements.

♦︎ Robin Michel (CH) ♦︎

Basel-born Robin Michel explores sound magic from many angles, from analog and modular synthesizers to various DIY gadgets. With a series of concerts, performances, installations, and intermedia experiments under his belt, he is obsessed with exploring the psychoacoustic experiences of electronic music. He usually performs in several lineups, but he will be joining us solo.
