Schedule

The six dancers of the piece (Júlia Garai, Csaba Molnár, Balázs Oláh, Márton Gláser, Jessica Simet, Csaba Varga) form three couples who pay no attention to anyone or anything else but each other, and often lose themselves in their partner's movements. The three simultaneous ballroom dances are completely devoid of outward performative intentions. Passion, intimacy and affection are made explicit through the universal gestures of the human body, eclipsing verbality and waking awareness. Sensuality is abstracted, stripped of personal human experience as they move through their closed unit dances. Behind the almost instinctive, contingent or even controlled movements, there is a great deal of experienced attention, and the dancers reach the essence of passion. Through extreme concentration, invisible on the surface, they achieve a state of mind that is filled only with the presence of their partner. They work with the inexhaustibility of touch, the memory of the body. Stripping away norms, rules and expectations, they enter a state of consciousness that they create clearly for themselves and their partner, yet which can have an overriding power for anyone who observes them.
