Amaro Freitas
Mini jazz festival at the House of Music on April 16-17! New jazz on the horizon – Two days of jazz in the House is primarily for jazz fans, but we usually favor all music lovers by saying that two of the genre's contemporary cannons – can be viewed on consecutive days.

Schedule
Young pianist-composer Amaro Freitas has become an increasingly acclaimed artist in jazz in recent years, and his fourth album Y 生Y in 2024 was one of the most celebrated publications of the year. His approach, which expands the framework of jazz with both afro-Brazilian and contemporary music, can be grasped with spiritual, avant-garde, postminimalist tokens, not far from the Third Stream movement, which combines jazz and Western classical music.
It is certain that a large format artist will be seen for the first time in Hungary, who is – hardly an issue –, will be a significant player in the genre in the future as well.
Born in 1991, Amaro Freitas released his post-bop, samba-jazz debut album in 2016, Rasif 2018 was already surrounded by international attention, and the third LP (Sankofa) in 2021 was a celebrated record, as was the 2024 Yofos Parker, of which Jeff and the second half, which also uses a wind instrument, is more jazz, but the whole record is imbued with the world of rainforests, the summoning of traditions and respect for nature.
