The new solo album by Lőrinc Barabás of Orbit – who is now continuing his solo project under the name Barabas – is a cinematic and meditative musical journey in which neoclassical piano, ambient soundscapes and electronic textures come together.
The ten compositions are inspired by the concepts of movement and cyclicality: whilst the outside world becomes ever faster, the music seeks the possibility of slowing down, turning inwards and finding silence.
Trumpet, piano and synthesisers engage in dialogue, creating a musical universe that is at once intimate and expansive, situated at the intersection of ambient, neoclassical and electronic music.
Over the course of his career spanning nearly two decades, Lőrinc Barabás has released thirteen albums, performs regularly across Europe and the United States, and has collaborated with artists such as Erik Truffaz, Takuya Kuroda, Niklas Paschburg and Valerie June.

His international performances have included the EFG London Jazz Festival at the Barbican in London, the Jazzycolours Festival in Paris, The Town Hall in New York, as well as Expo 2020 Dubai and Expo 2025 Osaka.
The album launch, taking place on 29 November at Szabadkikötő in Pécs, brings the world of Orbit to life, where acoustic instruments and electronics merge into a single, continuous musical space.
