Ozma: The Day We Decided to Live at Night (FR)

A key figure in modern French jazz, OZMA has been touring the world for more than 20 years. With eight albums and more than 600 concerts to their name, they champion a musical world that is both accessible and daring, and they are keen to experiment with interdisciplinary collaborations to create universal, vibrant and thoroughly contemporary works. After five years of silence, they released their new album in the spring of 2025. The Day We Decided to Live at Night, written by drummer and band leader Stéphane Scharlé, continues to be based on jazz, metal, and rock, combining elements drawn from Fulani music and Eastern singing styles with electronic influences. The diverse inspirations create a joyful and communicative soundscape: although The Day We Decided to Live at Night could be the soundtrack to a dystopian sci-fi noir, the music never descends into melancholy. On the contrary, with vibrant intensity and energy, it encourages us to be open, to move with change, and to allow others to enrich us.
