Etro Melede (premiere) | Abszolút Beginners | Guta!
On June 1st, Etro Melede embarks on a mind-altering journey with their premier show, shattering the boundaries between a concert and a dance performance, defying conventions, and breaking down the walls of modern rituals. The creators, Katalin Bitó and Anna Makay, channel sounds that touch the deepest layers of the soul from their depersonalized state and share profound emotions with the audience. Following the premiere, you will have the chance to experience the mysterious sounds of Abszolút Beginners and GUTA! It is rare to witness so many exceptional artists in a non-sterile space on an evening in Budapest.

Schedule
ETRO MELEDE (Premiere show)
Our ritual-like improvisational performance is on the border of a concert and a dance performance. It has a subtle community or interactive quality. The audience practically and actively never becomes part of the happenings, but gets out from the passively receptive state and becomes active in the sence of experience and empathy. This is due to the ritual nature of the performance. The performers pass on to those present what speaks up in them from a depersonalized state.
Katalin Bitó: dance
Anna Makay: singing, electronic music
Zsófia Pappa: costume
Supporter: Sín Culture Center
ABSZOLÚT BEGINNERS
This interdisciplinary collective, ignoring genres, grew out of rich friendships between Vera and Rozi. We were invited to a concert sooner than we created our songs, this motivated us to fix our melodic story fragments and learn how to turn on the amplifier. The emphasis here is not on technique, but on experience and good humor. Adhering to Kodály's approach, we believe that music belongs to everyone.
Rozi Kemény: keyboard and others
Veronika Szabó: guitar and others
GUTA!
Unsettling robot choirs, metallic kicks, folk instruments and gut-churning basslines slice the air in a refreshing union of Eastern European polyrhythmics. Genres are banned from the unique sound of Guta!, who shows up only minutes before a set, citing “I was too anxious” then proceeds to hand out gummy bears to the audience, charming across the intimate venues of Paris, Bratislava, Prague, Budapest, Krakow and Vienna.
