Training for arts managers began in February 1986 at the university’s predecessor, the Hungarian College of Applied Arts. To this day, the program runs in two formats: a full-time degree program awarding a university diploma, and a one-day-per-week postgraduate program. Over the decades, both formats have continuously evolved.

The full-time program initially ran as a five-year, undivided Design Management (DM) degree, providing designers with management knowledge as a second specialization. With the Bologna system transition, this evolved into the Design and Art Management MA (DMM). This master’s program is open to graduates from all bachelor’s backgrounds — economics, humanities, arts, or social sciences. So far, two hundred students have completed the program, and this year the 15th cohort will graduate. For the past two years, the program has been taught in English under the name Art and Design Management MA (ADM), alongside five other English-language master’s programs at MOME.

Running parallel to the full-time format, the postgraduate management program remains popular. The former course is now accredited as a specialized postgraduate program and can be chosen with two specializations under the name Museum and Cultural Management (MUKUME).

For four decades, MOME’s management education has been a defining presence in Hungary’s cultural and creative industries. Beyond celebrating the past of these programs, the double anniversary testifies to the continuity with which artistic and economic perspectives are integrated in education. The goal of the 2026 program series is to showcase the professional paths alumni have taken since their university years.

The first event of the anniversary series will be the finissage of MOME KIKI, the Kipakolás Exhibition.

On the day of the finissage, the program begins with a public professional event from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, open not only to current and former students, but to all interested visitors. Six alumni from the management programs will return to the community to present their career paths and key projects:

Design Management:

Juhász Dóra, leather and textile designer, design manager

Misetics Mátyás, creative director and cultural strategist

Design and Art Management:

Gorka-Focht Máté, lecturer at MOME, PhD student at the Doctoral School

Tánczos Korinna, visual professional, curator, artistic director of Kastner Kommunity

Museum and Cultural Management:

Kolocz Dóra, professional director of the Róth Miksa Memorial House and Collection, Ráday Mihály Award–winning museologist and museum manager

Szász Veronika Veni, freelance graphic designer, musician, and art teacher

The ten-minute presentations will be followed by a roundtable discussion, where participants will talk about how they apply the knowledge gained at MOME in practice across different areas of the cultural sector. After the daytime program, the celebration will conclude in the evening with the KIKI finissage, cake cutting, and a toast.

• Date: Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 10:00 AM

• Location: Editory (1084 Budapest, Déri Miksa u. 6.)
