JÜ+

Formed in 2012, JÜ plays music of ecstasy: their themes—which often seem austere and sometimes emerge from distinctly repetitive swirls—and their compositions, which draw simultaneously from psychedelic and noise rock, a touch of folk, and full-blooded power jazz, carry incredible energy. The music evokes the golden age of genres with seemingly different motivations coming together, but beyond the obvious reminiscences, JÜ by no means merely revisits the fusion music of the late ’60s and early ’70s: by expanding the possibilities of the instruments, it transports the spellbound audience straight from the present into the future. On this evening, the ensemble, joined by Junior Prima Award-winning cimbalom player Áron Horváth, explores the unknown.
