Mixing traditional folk with current sounds is easy to fall through, but the way Mordái does it is one of the most powerful approaches possible.
The formation founded by Nové Soma, known from Middlemist Red, reaches out to the experimental Hungarian folk of the 60s and 70s and twists it into a simultaneously concise and yet hauntingly visceral, dark, instrumental jazz-rock.
If we'd had feature films about men in hats with troubled lives holding up wagons stuffed with all sorts of goods at gunpoint in Kiskunság, the soundtrack would be clearly played by MORDÁI.
