Cinema Niche EXTRA: Hong Sang-soo Randevú
Cinema Niche returns with a special edition before the summer holidays. Audiences can finally meet South Korean festival favourite Hong Sang-soo at the first-ever Cinema Niche EXTRA. The two 80-minute films will be screened together, with a short break, twice in Budapest and once at the Apolló Cinema in Pécs.

Hong Sang-soo is one of the world's most prolific directors, whose films regularly premiere at Europe's renowned film festivals every year. Conjuring complex narratives out of everyday spontaneous situations, Hong seems to be adding more and more pearls to a story thread that has spanned decades with his low-budget films. However, we have rarely encountered his work in this country, and a long-standing dream has come true by being able to present two of his films on the big screen.
The two works were created at different stages of Hong's career. We are convinced that the director's oeuvre can only be comprehensively interpreted after watching several films, so it became clear that we envision Hong's first premiere in Hungary as a "double bill". On the other hand, at the Budapest screening held in Uránia, the audience will have the opportunity to exchange tickets for the films separately.
All screenings will feature Hungarian and English subtitles.
An afterparty will be held at Toldi Klub after the first premiere. Entry for this event is free of charge for anyone with a valid ticket for the screening.
