Pablo Servigne's book L'Entraide has inspired the creation of Budapest Dance Theatre's new production of See you in the air! According to the law of nature, living things compete with each other to survive, but the sociologist says there is another rule, namely collaboration. He gives a number of examples to show that in extreme conditions, the living world is wired to work together, not to compete. In the creation of the Budapest Dance Theatre, it is collaboration that is at the heart of the artist's work, which he focuses on as the antithesis of the competitive approach to life that pervades our society today. The collaboration that allows us, in extreme circumstances, to transcend the limits of our ego, to overcome the selfishness of our fears. Is it utopian to put the interests of the community above the individual?
Through extreme situations, the ensemble draws attention to the interdependence of people, the catalytic effect of cooperation and the trust without which we are paralysed in the face of challenges.
Individuals alone cannot accomplish things that they can accomplish together. The possibility of flight, which has so long been a preoccupation of mankind, is not something we can achieve alone, but with our partners beside us, or rather beneath us, we can even overcome the laws of physics and float.

National Dance Theatre
On 15 February 2019, Budapest's unique new cultural arena opened its doors: the new National Dance Theatre in Millenáris Park. The building, equipped with the latest theatre technology and featuring unique architectural solutions, offers two theatre halls and a chamber hall for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building will also become a community space open to visitors to the park, giving Millenáris the opportunity to become even more part of the capital's bloodstream.
