Live Dance Archive Szatmár - Hungarian National Dance Ensemble
Zoltán Zsuráfszky, Kossuth Prize-winning choreographer, inspired by the original dance collections of Dr. György Martin, launched his Living Martin Archive series a few years ago as a tribute to the great scholar.

The series revolutionized Hungarian folk dance on stage and set an example of how to create performances of high artistic value by perfectly mastering authentic folk dance, keeping the "pure source". These shows, in addition to presenting the most deeply and thoroughly learned and mastered authentic dance processes of a region, give the audience the opportunity to discover the richness and beauty of their own dance and music culture. Each one of the deep and sincere moments of the performances is a testimony to the creator's dedicated love for popular culture.
Until the 1970s, legendary dance researcher György Martin and his colleagues in Satu Mare collected and archived the dance culture of small villages in the greatest detail (more than 290 villages were filmed dancing).
In addition to the dance culture of the two most danced villages in the Ecsed Marsh region (Tyukod and Nagyecsed), the dance culture of the shepherds and the gypsies of Satu Mare is included in our Living Dance Archive.

National Dance Theatre
On 15 February 2019, Budapest's unique new cultural arena opened its doors: the new National Dance Theatre in Millenáris Park. The building, equipped with the latest theatre technology and featuring unique architectural solutions, offers two theatre halls and a chamber hall for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building will also become a community space open to visitors to the park, giving Millenáris the opportunity to become even more part of the capital's bloodstream.
