Test Jazz Group

The current line-up of the Test Jazz Group performed for the first time in May 2022 at Mixát, on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the band leader György Regály - then known as Regály 60. The name of the band, which has since been consolidated, is a tribute to Regály's perhaps most successful formation, the Test Jazz Group, which was formed in 1983 and has undergone several member changes.

Although Regály, well known as a member of No-Spa, Kőszegi Trio, Cotton Club Band, Afro Magic, Afro Jam, Katona Klári and Dig It All, now spends most of his time teaching, on rare occasions he also performs on stage with similar jazz legends. In the partially re-formed Test Jazz Group, he is joined by Sándor Sándor Soso Lakatos, Krisztián Lakatos Pecek and Elemér Balázs - the latter of whom got his career off to a flying start with the Test Jazz Group three decades ago. The two pillars of their repertoire are Regály's own compositions and outstanding pieces of jazz history, which they give new colour with tasteful performances and brilliant solos.
