Polska Jazz - Vas/Bukowski/Szmańda Trio

The main strength of the band lies in the unique playing style of the three members, which gives the band a unique sound. Their debut album, Open-Closed Principle, was released in 2022 on Polish SJ Records. The album was inspired by the closure experienced during the pandemic, where Bence Vas tried to translate the terms related to closure into the language of music. In the process, he also became familiar with the open-closed principle, which can be applied to the relationship between composition and improvisation in the orchestra's working method: the original concept of the written pieces remains unchanged, but new ideas, reactions and joint improvisations further shape the musical material.
