In this concert, Barnaby Brown will present reconstructions of wind instruments from lost ages - Stone Age, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Celtic whistles. These 'organs' of the ancient world accompanied religious rituals, theatrical performances, and the voices of warrior kings, conveying harmony and superhuman majesty through the music they played. Brown's interpretation of the finds and reconstruction of music was inspired by his adventures in Hebrides, Wales, Sardinia, Hindustan and Southeast Asia, among other places.
