Schedule
- 18:00-22:00Jazz circus, jazz fest!
As part of Jazzfest Budapest, Paal Nilssen-Love, the Norwegian drumming legend, will play a café concert at Lumen with his seven-piece ensemble, which is not circus in the traditional sense, but the effect is just the same. As the fest's website says:
"The band is made up of musicians from different styles. The seven unique voices have come together around common musical ideas and ways of thinking, and a shared understanding of musical freedom.
The music is composed by Nilssen-Love, but the songs are more like maps, with each musician free to choose the direction and intensity. Nilssen-Love draws inspiration from her recent travels and studies in Ethiopia and Brazil, and has a long-standing affinity with Mali and Senegalese music. But it all has its roots in broadly defined improvised music. This makes PNL Circus a highly unpredictable band. Watching them live is like going to the circus!"
Lumen Café
A café and restaurant in the Mikszáth area, the big brother of KisLumen, where you can enjoy not only food and drinks but also culture. Especially jazz and other music for the mind.
