The artist masterfully blends the diverse timbres and expressions of Korean instruments with modern soundscapes. His first album, "Communion" (2018, Tak:til/Glitterbeat Records), is an experimental album of eclectic instrumental nuances, born from collaborations with musicians from diverse musical backgrounds.
It has won acclaim from several major music media, including Pitchfork Media in the US, The Wire and Uncut magazines in the UK, The Guardian newspaper and the BBC. Subsequently, he released his second album "Philos" (2019, Tak:til/Glitterbeat) and his third album "The Gleam" (2022 Tak:til/Glitterbeat), on which he strove for a clear clarity and a precise balance of sounds without any frills.
Unlike the debut album, Park Jiha recorded all the sounds on the last two albums himself. His latest work, 'The Gleam', is based on the concept of light interacting with people in different ways at different times of the day, and the resulting varied fragments of sound offer listeners an experience of contemplation.
