Manaky was formed in 2014. The word Manaky means "monarchy" in Patois (Jamaican English), and the choice of name is of course a message: these musicians are unique in Europe in playing authentic reggae music, blended with soul, hip-hop and funk elements. The band's founding members are Zsolt Krecsmáry (vocals, drums), András Koroknay (bass) and András Kálmán (keyboards), and the boys are known from the bands Folkfree, Bijou, Knotty Headz and Soulclap.
