Takeshi's Cashew (AT)
Go to your record shelf and pick out that quirky (and unforgettable!) folklore vinyl you once found in a flea market somewhere during your travels. Now imagine that sound augmented with vintage synthesizers, flutes, surf guitars, a hell of a lot of space reverb ... and electronic downtempo beats!
Takeshi's Cashew (Laut&Luise, Berlin) is a newly formed psych-funk group exploring the boundaries of club culture, world music and 70s psychedelia. All members come from different musical backgrounds, creating a colourful fusion of different genres within a club-like beat framework and often turning their intricate arrangements into a beautiful and danceable potpourri. In summer 2020, Takeshi's Cashew recorded their debut album "Humans In A Pool" in their DIY studio in Vienna. This self-produced album takes you on a cosmic journey through krautrock, cumbia, afrobeat and disco.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
