József Balázs is one of the most talented keyboardists of the middle generation in Hungary, who won the best soloist award at the Jazz Juniors Competition in Krakow. The pianist is the leader of the East Gipsy Band, which has been a smash hit at the legendary Blue Note in New York and the Detroit Jazz Festival.
The pianist's brother, Elemér Balázs, has been a major figure in the Hungarian jazz scene for decades as a drummer and composer and enjoys considerable international recognition. The bassist Krisztián Lakatos Pecek won the national jazz double bass competition at the age of 13, and the now 28-year-old is one of the most popular musicians at the forefront of the Hungarian jazz scene.
Everyone is welcome to the jazz evening on 27 September at 8pm at Easy Art Space! During the evening we offer to support the musicians with a minimum of 1,000 forints.
