The Sophie M project takes us back to the futuristic pop world of the 90's, spicing up electronic basics with contemporary popular music. They share the stage with Lenkke_, who gyrates with lyrics written in Hungarian in a way that shows us something completely new.

Sophie M is a Budapest-based electro-pop duo active since 2020. The band has progressed from early classical vocal, piano and guitar studies to the new wave electro-pop world. The project aims to narrate, innovate and experiment the diverse possibilities of contemporary popular music through the enigmatic character of "Sophie M". The band's musical world, stage presence and image reflect the analogue and contemporary, futuristic pop aesthetics of the 1990s. Their sound is complex and saturated, the lyrics of the songs, written mainly in English, are melancholic, exploring the issues and critiques of young adulthood. The writer/producer duo intersperse their live performances with wilder, atmospheric improvisations. Sophie M have released nine singles and two music videos since their formation, were among the winners of the 2022 Kikeltető talent contest, have given several solo and joint concerts (Központ Budapest, Turbina Budapest, Auróra, Partizán Sessions), and have been invited to several Hungarian festivals (Kolorádó, Bánkitó, Reflektor, SZTEREO10 Contemporary Arts Festival).
