One of my favourite releases of 2015 was easily Batushka's debut album, a (relatively) easily digestable black metal with an exciting ritualistic approach to accompany it. A couple of years later, when I saw them at the A38, that was the show: they came out, played the record, and that was it. But that was all we needed. Many years have passed since then, the band has split up, but that doesn't mean the essence has changed. If orthodox, semi-occult music is your genre, don't miss it. But if not, it might still be worth giving it a try.
