Rampaging Death Spies
The Vágtázó Halottkémek was a Hungarian band that existed from 1975 to 2001 and was re-formed in 2009, playing the magical folk music they created. They started earlier than the punk movement, but their beginnings coincided with the German wave of progressive rock, krautrock, which embraced folk, world music and mythical influences, and the best-known of these bands (Amon Düül, Popol Vuh, Ash Ra Tempel) have admittedly influenced VHK.
Their music is born from the eternal creative power of the universe, the elemental source of ancient folk music. Because of their extraordinary energy and folk music inspiration, they are often considered an ethno-punk band. Their name is Galloping Coroners in English, Rasende Leichenbeschauer in German, and the abbreviation VHK is also used.
VHK was formed in 1975 by a group of friends of Attila Grandpierre in Budapest. The founding members were Attila Grandpierre (vocals), Sándor Czakó (guitar), László Ipacs (drums), Tamás Pócs (bass guitar) and György Molnár (lead guitar). The members of the band were able to convey their extraordinary experience of a world burning inside them, even with electric guitars.
They were banned until 1986, yet they performed often because they were so extraordinary that many promoters took the risk of performing them. Most of them experience the band's performances as an incredible event, unlike anything they had previously expected. This is especially the case for those who have never seen the band perform before.
The band played "the magical folk music of the future", often described with the usual scattershot terms such as ethno-punk, shaman-punk, psychedelic hardcore. The members of the band have changed in various ways. In Germany, VHK was one of the best known cult bands. They have created classics such as "Battle of the Huns", "Unsigned History" and "Irreplaceable Immortality". Their records have been on the radio playlists from San Francisco to Tallinn, and in this country they have appeared at the top of the MAHASZ charts. Many consider VHK "the best shaman-punk band of all time". Their popularity is unbroken, they are Hungary's cult band.

A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
