Have you always wanted to see what goes on in the part of the stage not visible from the auditorium? Do you want to see what happens before the curtain goes up or after the show is over? Want to know how an actor changes costume in seconds? Would you like to listen in on the sound set-up that goes with getting ready before a performance? Would you like to visit the most hidden corners of the Madách Theatre, where even most of the staff have never been? Then this is your programme!
You can take an interesting tour before SIX's scheduled performances, where you will be introduced to almost all the secrets of the Madách Theatre and the production by the theatre's managers György Hencz and Attila Imely-Füzi.
TICKETS FOR THE WALK ARE AVAILABLE:
1. When buying theatre tickets online, please do not forget to add the same number of walking tickets to your shopping cart.
2. The Walk ticket is not valid for our performances.
- Please note that the 'Journey behind the curtain' walk is not accessible and it is particularly recommended to arrive in comfortable shoes and clothing, in which it is easy to negotiate narrow stairs, corridors and tunnels.
- We do not recommend this programme for those who have a fear of heights, or, more colloquially, a fear of heights.
- The Walk will leave from the Madách Theatre foyer at 16.30 sharp, late arrivals will unfortunately not be able to join the group.
- Please use extra caution during the Walk and follow the instructions of the walk leader
Madách Theater
There is still an “era” in the Madách Theater. The era of the rise and success of musical theater. The change began in 1983 with Cats, whose decades-long series of success provided a solid foundation for the next defining step: the legendary 2003 performance of The Phantom of the Opera. Both performances were directed by Tamás Szirtes, who was elected director of the Madách Theater in 2004. Under his direction, the Madách Theater embarked on a path that has resulted in a successful musical theater of outstanding quality. World-famous musicals line up in his program, which are usually in large blocks, so-called they are staged according to the en suite playing order, and each performance remains on the show for years. The basic aim of the theater is to give the viewer the same experience even after 10 years as at the premiere.
