Epherme concert
Ephemere was founded by a female duo, Izabella Caussanel and Lilla Orbay, and its members are young musicians who have won national and international awards. Their compositions evoke the jazz and chanson world of the first half of the twentieth century, with a Latin atmosphere and the intimate atmosphere of a bar. The band's repertoire is extremely varied, with original songs, jazz standards, French songs and world music influences, all combined with a unique sound. The compositions are performed in Hungarian, French and English. After their debut album last year, Ephemere are preparing to record their second album this year, which will be a more modern take on the genre.
The word Ephemere is the French equivalent of the word "yarrow". But instead of a generic meaning, the band's choice of name gives the term a new meaning: their approach emphasises rebirth and living in the moment. Their improvisational, jazzy style of playing and the contrast between the composed music also make them instantly recognisable.
