Two gangs of white boys and Puerto Rico immigrants fight on the streets of New York’s West Side. At one of the dancers’ entertainment venues, Tony, the leader of the Jets, and the beautiful half-blooded girl Maria, a member of the competing band, meet. The two young people love each other at first sight. There is hope that their love may end their long-lasting hatred. Conflict is inevitable...
