Lóci Játszik end of year concert, guest: Grancanada

2023-12-16T18:30:00.000Z

In 2023, the band has been to many great festivals and events, so we have seen many new faces in the audience and we are very grateful for that! This concert is a joint closing of the year of the Horse playing with a huge boat-rocking, dancing party. We promise we'll try to bring something new this time too!

Schedule

GranCanada:

GranCanada is an alternative R&B band formed in late 2018. The five-piece line-up features a trumpet in addition to the basic trio of drums, bass and guitar, and the instrumentation is topped off with vocals that combine the softness of soul with the hardness of hip-hop. They strive to create a hybrid sound, with keyboard and electric drum sounds that lift their concerts away from the acoustic orchestral sound, making the audience dance to their electronic music. They released a single in autumn 2022 and a second album in early 2023, supported by the Voice Occupation Programme, which features the hybrid sound mentioned above.

Lóci Játszik

The story of the 9-year-old band was founded by eponymous frontman Lóci Csorba back in 2014, when he wrote the soundtrack for VAN. This was followed by the recognition of the Who Mit Tube and the Cseh Tamás Programme, a successful tour with Margaret Island, and then they won the audience award at the Veszprém Street Music Festival. In 2017, they won the Fonogram "Discoverer of the Year" award and were the winners of the Big Band Pad competition, so they have been featured at all the festivals, such as VOLT in front of Linkin Park, SZIGET in front of PINK, Strand in front of Bastille. The official anthem of the latter was a summer mutation of their hit song ´Nem strandolsz jobban´, entitled ´Nem táncolsz jobban´.

At the 2020 Hungarian Film Awards Gala, Lóci and Daniel Csengery won the Best Composer award for the theme song of the film Seveled, and in 2021, the video for 'Panelparadicsom' won the Best Performance award at the Hungarian Clips Festival.

Location

A38 Ship

Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
