Every Tuesday evening, students from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music welcome audiences seeking the excitement of spontaneous, joyful music-making—as well as musicians eager to join in—at the Budapest Jazz Club. Week after week, a different lineup of talented students from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music guarantees sophisticated jazz music spiced with carefree fun and diverse, improvisational evenings to kick off the week!

The LFZE ensembles typically consist of members of the newest generation—young people around 18 years old—most of whom apply to the LFZE after graduating from the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music, better known as the Bartók Conservatory. As can be seen at the school’s mid-year and end-of-year recitals, a significant number of the audience members are friends and family members of the orchestra members, so these concerts feature a wide range of ages and a warm, family-like atmosphere.
We accept applications from musicians outside Hungary applying for the LFZE Open Jam Plus project at [email protected].
We will send information via email regarding the reimbursement of lodging and travel expenses, as well as further details about participating in the Jams.
