The Farkas Gábriel Band’s club concert series, which dates back several decades, continues this time with a themed evening: on the first day of September, the focus will be on the life’s work of one of American jazz’s legendary figures, 17-time Grammy Award winner Tony Bennett. Frank Sinatra’s favorite singer bridged generations throughout his career, and on his later albums, he collaborated with global stars such as Lady Gaga and Andrea Bocelli. On this evening, Gábriel Farkas pays tribute to one of his most important role models: Tony Bennett would have celebrated his 100th birthday on August 3.
A unique parallel in the two artists’ careers is that, in addition to music, both were actively involved in the visual arts. This evening is therefore more than just a concert: Gábriel Farkas also welcomes the audience with an exhibition curated from Tony Bennett’s body of work, further enriching the picture of the singer and his art.
Gábriel Farkas’s distinctive voice will be accompanied this evening by his well-rehearsed jazz trio, which will be joined by guitarist Attila Rieger especially for this concert.
