Kataklysm

Kataklysm is a Canadian death metal band. They formed in Montreal in 1991. Their first full-length album was released in 1995. Over the years they have moved from a straight death metal style to a melodic death metal style. Their records are released by the German label Nuclear Blast. There were frequent member changes in the band, which resulted in changes in their music. On their third album, for example, thrash metal elements are also present. Their later albums are more a combination of melodic and classic death metal. Previously they played pure, angry death metal, but after the departure of singer Sylvain Houde, their style changed.
