"The Lake Balaton region is undergoing unprecedented ecological changes, including climate change, invasiveness and increasing pressures on the ecosystem. The exhibition and accompanying publication at the House of Arts in Veszprém explore how we imagine the landscapes of the future. Whose imagination will we live in? This theme involves specific ecological, political and social aspects, such as thinking about the often conflicting interests of the different human and non-human users of the lake. Who has access to the lake and under what conditions? Who is welcome and who is not? Who is useful and who is not?

The publication provides insights into the main issues surrounding Lake Balaton from a variety of perspectives, including artistic, curatorial, sociological, ethnographic and biological."

The publication will be available for free at the launch.

Admission to the programme is free.
