Belgian Beer Trip Tap Takeover

After adventures in the north and overseas, it's good to refresh your memory of the real classics. Here are our favourite Belgian beers! ON TAP // ON DRAFT 👸 De Struise - Cuvée Delphine 13% BA Imperial Stout // An illegitimate princess's dream come true: this midnight-black ale is actually a version of the ostrich brewery's Black Albert classic, aged in bourbon barrels for a year. Time to wake her up! 👑 De Struise - Black Albert 13% Imperial Stout // And of course there's the aforementioned base beer, which is really the cornerstone of Belgian-style imperial stouts. In the words of the brewers, the beer named after the laughing king of the Belgians tattoos its consumer straight from the inside. We'll see, but we're not protesting too much. 🌊 De Struise - Pannepot Reserva (2019) 10% BA Belgian Strong Ale // Sometimes it's unnecessary to complicate things, and we won't: this cask-aged Belgian strong ale speaks for itself. 🍒 Hof ten Dormaal - Kriek - Zure van Tildonk 6.5% Kriek // Unconcentrated sour cherries, wild yeasts and oak barrels: a Belgian trinity, if you like. ⛪ Chimay - Chimay Grande Réserve (Blue) 9% Belgian Strong Dark Ale // We're going to go out on a limb and say we've never had this typically bottled classic on tap, so we're going to rewind 15 years and pay back the greenhorn in us. 🐼 Oud Beersel - Bamboo Leaf Infused Lambic 6.8% Traditional Lambic // It's rare nowadays that we haven't tasted a beer with an ingredient like this, but one of the inescapable players in the lambic brewing world has pulled something like this here with bamboo leaf. 🐺 La Trappe - Tripel 8% Belgian Tripel // The most Belgian Dutch beer in the role of a wolf in sheep's clothing! ⚰️ Oud Beersel - Bersalis Barrel Reserve 10% Sour Tripel // A barrel-aged version of the brewery's classic Belgian Tripel. 🌶️ Oud Beersel - Merkén Infused Lambic 6.8% Traditional Lambic // Lambic and smoked Chilean chilli? Yet that's exactly what happens in the witch cellar of Oud Beersel.
