Texas, rust belt, run-down trailer park. Not the backdrop for a bubble-gum fairy tale. And Chris, a junkie, fits the bill: he's trying to settle his dealer's and other debts by spontaneously killing his mother - and the inheritance he hopes his sister will get from it.
Killer Joe is a cop and part-time hitman, so he takes the job. Only, because Chris has no money for the advance, he is forced to bail out his sister Dottie to Killer Joe until his mother's murder is carried out.
Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning author Tracy Letts of August in Oklahoma has created a brutal, sexy and humorous story of morally wasted characters in a way that makes the corpses wrapped in garbage bags, the desperate attempts at new life and the idea of creating a rabbit farm seem both realistic and ridiculous in this dusty junkyard.

Thália Theatre
In the Thália Theatre, the focus is on light-hearted entertainment, in the spirit of the "Pest Broadway" of Nagymező Street. The Thália Winter Garden, inaugurated in 2019, is a little more serious, while the Arizona Studio is home to independent productions. In 2017, the capital reaffirmed its confidence in the management, with Gábor Kálomista applying for the post of managing director and Géza Bereményi as an advisor.
