Our story begins with an introduction to Fairyland: a realm where "no sorrow weeps" and "the splendour of spring is everlasting", with our protagonists Hansel and Gretel. The only question is how to get there, and at what price?
Through moments of journey, adventure and danger, we follow our heroes as they experience the beauty of finding each other, the pain of being separated and the joy of being reunited.
This production, created to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Sándor Petőfi, has set itself the goal of retelling - or for many, telling for the first time - the magical story of two young lovers, Hansel and Gretel. Poetry plays an important part in the story: following its rhythm and melody, children and parents alike can immerse themselves in the music of words and once again discover their creative power to ignite the imagination.

Thália Theatre
In the Thália Theatre, the focus is on light-hearted entertainment, in the spirit of the "Pest Broadway" of Nagymező Street. The Thália Winter Garden, inaugurated in 2019, is a little more serious, while the Arizona Studio is home to independent productions. In 2017, the capital reaffirmed its confidence in the management, with Gábor Kálomista applying for the post of managing director and Géza Bereményi as an advisor.
