JAZZ TEHETSÉGBÖRZDE: Up To the Surface
The formation was formed by students of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, from where it developed into an independent project. The backbone of their repertoire is formed by the members' own compositions, which reflect the musical influences they are currently exposed to. Their main inspiration is the small band jazz sound and form of the 1960s.

Gergő Szabó started playing the piano at the age of seven. He was taught by Richárd Révész, Máté Pozsár and Áron Tálas at the Béla Bartók Music and Instrumental Training Secondary School (Konzi), János Nagy at the ETŰD Conservatory and Kálmán Oláh at the jazz department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. Dániel Cseke also started playing music at the age of seven in Nagykanizsa. At the Farkas Ferenc Music School he was a student of Béla Vámos. He also learned a lot as a member of the Kanizsa Big Band. He graduated from the Academy of Music in 2023 as a jazz saxophone teacher. Brúnó Barakonyi started to study bass guitar at the age of fourteen with György Szentgallay, then graduated from the Bartók-Pikéthy Music High School in Vác with a degree in jazz bass. He is currently a student at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and is a member of the Lilla Orbay Quintet, the Barnabás Négyessy Quartet, the Salamon Tűzkő Quintet, the Armand Neuschl Trio, the AMT Collectiva, The Bligëts and the Harakiri Maggotz. Bence Baranyi started playing the drums at the age of five and studied with Iván Nesztor from the age of seven. At the Bartók Konzi, he and his friends founded the Choose Cheese band, which has also performed at the Jazz Showcase. He graduated from the jazz department of the Liszt Academy in 2021. As a drummer, he feels at home in all styles and works as a sound engineer in addition to playing music.
